Profeco withdraws this cupcake from the market

Are you a fan of cupcakes? If you usually contemplate buying these sweet products in your pantry or they are your favorites from the corner store, you should know that the Federal Consumer Protection Office (Profeco) already has some of them in its sights and will soon withdraw them from the market.

These brands present various irregularities, regarding compliance with NOM-051 or derived from their importation, according to what Profeco told Milenio.

Profeco explained that after carrying out studies on 25 brands of packaged cupcakes, it detected that one of them obtained negative results, either in compliance with NOM-051 or derived from its importation.

The brand of cupcake that will be withdrawn in Mexico in 2022 by Profeco is: Vualá Swich (presentation of cake and in the form of a roll), because it is mislabeled in terms of its sugar content, in addition to detecting irregularities about its import to the country.

The Vualá Swich cupcake can still be found in stores like Oxxo and Walmart, among others; however, it will be in the next few days when the product will be withdrawn from the market, once the due procedure has been completed.

The results of the studies carried out by Profeco on the 25 brands of packaged cupcakes will be published in detail in the Consumer Magazine for the month of February.
