The Circuit de Barcelona hosts this Monday the second official test of the MotoGP season, after the one held in Jerez at the beginning of May. The rehearsals, which started at 10 in the morning under a bright sun and temperatures close to 30 degrees in the environment, will last until six in the afternoon.
Halfway through, after the first four hours, the fastest in the morning was the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (1.39.447), ahead of Johann Zarco, third in Sunday’s race, both exceeding fifty laps. Aleix Espargaró, who could have been second but, with a mistake, lost three places on the last lap, crossing the finish line fifth.
Pol Espargaró set the fourth fastest time ahead of the Ducatis of Pecco Bagnaia and Jack Miller. The Italian is the only one of the three drivers who were involved in the crash on the first lap of the race, physically available to ride in the test, after the casualties of Alex Rins and Takaaki Nakagami. The man from Suzuki, with a broken left hand, visited the circuit this morning.
After being hit in the first corner and not contesting the race, Bagnaia is the one who has done the most laps until two in the afternoon, 56, the same as Andrea Dovizioso, who did not finish on Sunday after leaving due to technical problems.
Jorge Martín, who this afternoon was scheduled to undergo surgery in Modena to correct the carpal tunnel problem in his right hand, and Marc Márquez, who is still in the United States recovering from the intervention he underwent last Thursday, completed the drop list.
