Quartararo puts pressure on the Ducati by leading the MotoGP Warm Up in Austria

The last training session prior to the MotoGP race of the Austrian Grand Prix was held in dry conditions and with slick tires, however the clouds and the appearance of a light rain presided over the session, even with a white flag with two red crosses in the absence of 5 minutes to go, indicating the onset of rain.

All this was not a problem for Fabio Quartararo to lead the session, which until now had always been dominated by Ducati riders, with a time of 1:29.800 to put some pressure on his rivals and make it clear to the brand’s riders Italian that does not throw in the towel. Second was Maverick Viñales, with the Aprilia, while the first bike in Bologna was placed by Jorge Martín, third on the time sheet. Jack Miller finished fourth, showing that he is in a good moment and looking forward to the race, beating Alex Rins who was fifth.

Luca Marini, very active this weekend, finished sixth, with Franco Morbidello, in one of his best weekends this year, seventh ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Johann Zarco. The top 10 was closed by Aleix Espargaró who continues to drag the injury to his right heel, as could be seen when rehearsing the change of bike in the pit lane, an action in which he saw the stars.

Among the favourites, Pecco Bagnaia finished 11th, ahead of Joan Mir and poleman Enea Bastianini 16th. Raúl Fernández managed to finish 14th, while the KTMs of Miguel Oliveira (17th) and Brad Binder (21st) finished far behind.j
