Quartararo: "Without help, it's difficult to make a strategy"

Fabio Quartararo once again recalled that he is alone against his rivals in the fight for the world championship and that despite having emerged stronger from the last race in Japan, where he only finished eighth, but his main rivals, Pecco Bagnaia and Aleix Espargaró, did not scored, he knows that the pressure of the ‘army’ made up of the Ducati prevents him from making many plans.

This Friday, at the start of the Thai Grand Prix, the Frenchman finished with the fifth fastest time (1.30.555) in the combined times of the two sessions held.

“In my last attack I had two yellow flags, but my pace is good, especially with the medium tires,” explained the Yamaha rider at the end of the day, who was unable to improve in the final part due to crashes that forced yellow flags on the track. .

Despite this, the Yamaha boy maintained his usual performance and showed an enviable race pace.

“On the bike I felt a bit on the limit,” he said, before emphasizing that “the top five, as always, Ducati.”

For Quartararo, without teammates at Yamaha to deduct points from his rivals, making strategies is complicated.

“Ducati has eight bikes, so they can play. I don’t have much help, so making a strategy will be difficult,” said the Frenchman, who during the second session had a tough time with Luca Marini for following the Italian on the track.

Quartararo, as always, was positive, and even had time to joke when they pointed out that Aragón, the circuit where he suffers the most from the lack of speed of his bike, will not be on the 2023 MotoGP calendar.

“Aragon will not be on the calendar next year, now that we will have more engine,” he said in reference to Yamaha’s new engine that will provide more horsepower to the Frenchman.
