Berlin / Potsdam / Sonderhausen – The federal police have been searching 41 objects in three federal states since early Wednesday morning in connection with suspected human smugglers and the brokerage of bogus paternity.
The main focus of the raids is Berlin with 38 objects, as a police spokesman said in the morning. There is also a search in each of the Brandenburg cities of Potsdam and Spremberg as well as in Sonderhausen in Thuringia. The RBB had previously reported.
According to the spokesman, the searches are directed against 18 male Germans and 23 Vietnamese women. The women are said to have come to Germany illegally. In order to obtain legal residence status for them, they should presumably be given bogus paternity. According to the police, the relevant investigations have been running since November.
