Mexican fans have always been an example of faithful pilgrimage when the Great Circus crosses its borders. The Mexican Grand Prix, recognized on several occasions as the best event on the calendar, packs the stands of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez, especially in the stadium sector, with fans totally dedicated to the local hero: Sergio Pérez.
The fans have always supported the Red Bull Racing driver, this year even more so, since the runner-up in the world is at stake with Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari.
Thus, the opening day on Friday set a new attendance record , becoming the Friday with the most spectators so far this year (and there are only two appointments left). More than 100,000 fans ( 108,981 people , specifically) moved to the track to follow the first two free trials from the stands.
The two practices had a significant number of people in the stands, but the peak of the influx came during FP2 , in which the spectators made the stands roar as the Red Bull de Checo passed by.
To be part of that party you have to be quick, since the tickets for this edition of the grand prize barely lasted 40 minutes .
With the figures mentioned, the organizers of the test can be satisfied, having widely exceeded the 97,000 attendees in the sessions on Friday last year.
This success has also had consequences in the surroundings of the circuit, with more traffic than usual that made access to the racetrack difficult.
The organization of the grand prize hopes that the number of spectators will increase both on Saturday and Sunday, days that also coincide with the Day of the Dead festive bridge.
