As announced some time ago, the future of Valentino Rossi lies in competing in motorsport aboard a GT car. After retiring from MotoGP, Il Dottore is taking advantage of this winter break to prepare for the 12 hours of the Gulf in which he will participate with the Kessel Racing Ferrari 488 as he did in the last two editions.
Waiting for the official announcement of the companions he will have in this adventure, the one from Tavullia is in the classic phase of “loosening the daisy”, as he admitted in an interview with Gazzetta Motori .
“I will race in a championship between the GT World Challenge Europe and the FIA WEC: one gives you the opportunity to do the 24 Hours of Spa , the other the 24 Hours of Le Mans. We still have to find out which is better,” explained Rossi, before clarifying that he is evaluating both options.
“I’ll be behind the wheel of a GT, now we have to find out which one I’ll be racing. We’re also talking to Ferrari , obviously that would be nice, a dream. Really cool stuff!”
A few weeks ago, at the MotoGP Grand Prix in Austin, the nine-time world champion also confessed his love for the United States in a chat with NBC Sports .
“Every year I have tried to do one or two car races here. In the United States there is the IMSA, which is very interesting, especially the 24 hours of Daytona . I hope to do them one day, although I have not decided anything yet.”

Rossi will not hang up his helmet, but he will take the opportunity to take some time to face a new life in all aspects.
“What I am most curious about is becoming a father, since everyone says that it changes your life. It will be a great emotion. For the rest, I will still have many things to do and it will be just as good, but it will not be MotoGP” .
“Finally I will have the summer free to go to various places and be on vacation, without having to meet deadlines to face the races. In short, do things a little more calmly”.
