But back to the topic of oru, Sara Liss. Where in the world is she right now? I can’t tell you that. But he could be anywhere, because this well-regarded and avidly followed Miami journalist has been everywhere. Sara had a New England education in Worcester, Massachusetts, an old city in the center of the Bay State. She admits to harboring a nostalgic affection for the distinctive New England accent, which can be heard in the speech by her fellow Worcester countryman Geoffrey Zakarian, the nine-time Top Chef winner.

Sara grew up traveling abroad with her family. He got used to visiting cousins who lived all over the world. Israel was a regular vacation destination for the Liss family, and Sara is fluent in Hebrew, as does Natalie Portman. It turns out that Sara is actually trilingual and comfortable in the Farsi language, which is spoken in Iran and is also called Persian.

You see that what we are dealing with here is an adventurous teenager. So it won’t come as a surprise to learn that, as a teenager, Sara chose a year off between high school and college. And where did it fly away? To Israel, where it felt like home. Her sabbatical, Sara says, involved “hitchhiking through the Judean desert, hanging out with Israeli neo-hippies and eating too many borekas at Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda farmers market,” she says. “It’s safe for me to say that I developed my passion for travel that year.”

Back in the United States, Sara attended Barnard College, Columbia University’s women’s college in the Morningside Heights section of New York City. Sara now lives in Miami with her husband and three children, and travels the world both as a solo journalist and as a family.

Sara’s serious journalism jobs have brought her back to the Middle East. In this news center, she was a reporter for the Associated Press office in Jerusalem and also for Time Out Istanbul.

Sara is now the editor of UrbanDaddy Miami, a daily email magazine. He writes a restaurant column for Miami.com and the Miami Herald called First Look, in which he writes about restaurants and nightlife establishments (restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels, shops) that have just opened in Big Orange. Sara’s eye-catching articles are avidly discussed by fans of the Miami trend and admired by other writers for their clever and engaging copying style.

Sara’s many articles on Miami’s food and design scenes are featured in local and national media, including Miami Modern Luxury, 944 Magazine, Florida Travel + Life, Home Magazine, and others. As if she wasn’t busy enough, Sara maintains the South Florida lifestyle blog AllPurposeDark.

This won’t be a surprise to hear either. Sara is a very social butterfly and loves meeting other Miami trendsetters. She founded and co-hosts a much talked about dinner at home. The idea is: the group regularly converges on a member’s residence, where the member has prepared a meal in the kitchen style that the group is dedicated to. And that cuisine is Middle Eastern, particularly Persian food, which is aromatic with spices from the Silk Road and deliciously sweet with raisins and dates.
