Although it looks like a scale, BlueScale is much more than that: in just ten seconds it lets you know your weight , your blood pressure , your pulse and your cardiac output . Everything you need to know how your cardiovascular system is working.
The device, developed by Nithin Rajan and Steve Xu, from the University of Houston, could be very useful for patients with cardiovascular problems to monitor their health from home on a daily basis. According to Rajan, by using BlueScale a patient will know when they need medical attention, and will be able to prevent heart attacks. The most interesting thing is that, thanks to its resemblance to a scale, its handling is very intuitive.
The original invention was present this weekend at the California IShow, an event that brings together young inventors every year who are looking for investors to commercialize their ideas.
