Schedules and how to watch the MotoGP Algarve Grand Prix

The 2021 MotoGP season only has two stops left. The first will be at the Portimao Circuit, where it was already run last April. The drivers’ title is already decided at the Algarve Grand Prix in favor of Fabio Quartararo, but there are still things at stake such as the runner-up between Pecco Bagnaia and Joan Mir or the teams’ and constructors’ championships.

Also, we could have champions in Moto2 and Moto3. Pedro Acosta has it somewhat easier than Remy Gardner.

The schedules change completely due to the difference between Portugal and the rest of the Iberian Peninsula. Thus, on Friday and Saturday all training and qualifying are delayed by one hour. On Sunday the races reverse their order. The MotoGP one remains at 2:00 p.m., but it will come after Moto3 (12:20 p.m.) and before Moto2 (3:30 p.m.).

The Grand Prix will start on Thursday 4 at 6:00 p.m., with the official press conference to which Quartararo, Bagnaia, Miguel Oliveira, Pol Espargaró and Enea Bastianini have been summoned, along with the contenders for the Moto2 title, Gardner and Raúl Fernández, and from Moto3, Acosta and Dennis Foggia.

How and where to watch the 2021 MotoGP Algarve GP

The Algarve GP will also not be broadcast openly on any television in Spain, so it can only be seen legally by paying for one of the three available options that have already broadcast the rest of the MotoGP season.

To see the Grand Prix in full on DAZN you will have to subscribe for €9.99 per month or €99.99 per year, although it offers a free trial month with no commitment to stay.

If you are a Movistar + client with Fusion, for an extra 10 euros you can add the package with the motor channels and see the same content as on DAZN .

As an alternative, the MotoGP VideoPass is available. It is reduced to 86% and costs €19.99 for the remainder of the season, giving access to its entire content catalog until the first race of 2022. Of course, the narration is in English.

And we remind you once again: any link you receive via Whatsapp, email or social networks is illegal.

Portimao, the circuit of the 2021 MotoGP Algarve GP

The Portimao Circuit, whose official name is the Algarve International Circuit , is located in the south of Portugal, near the port city near the track. It opened on November 2, 2008 and has a capacity for 100,000 spectators.

15 curves, 9 to the right and 6 to the left, make it up and the longest straight is less than a kilometer long (969 m). Its undulations, different heights and the huge descent before the first corner make it one of the most entertaining and exciting on the calendar.

Why is it called the Algarve GP?

The pandemic prevented the usual transoceanic MotoGP tour from taking place and instead a second grand prix was resorted to in Misano and Portimao. As the Portuguese track had already hosted the Portuguese GP last April, this second one is officially known as the Algarve GP after the port city where the circuit is located.

Which riders and teams will contest the 2021 MotoGP Algarve Grand Prix

In Portimao no news is planned between the regular riders of each team, so the usual 22 will participate.
