Almost thirteen years have passed since the launch of the Wii , Nintendo’s most successful desktop console. During the seven years that it lasted its life cycle it managed to sell more than 101 million units worldwide and has only been surpassed in its category by the PlayStation 2 (155 million units) and the first PlayStation (102.49 million units). units).
Now, almost six years after its production ceased, the console is a few months away from receiving what will be the last game ever released for it: Just Dance 2020 .
This is how Alain Corre from Ubisoft expressed it in a recent interview when asked if they are the only ones left picking code for the Nintendo console:
I think we are the last soldier standing! We are the latest game for the Wii and we are happy that there are a lot of fans waiting to play it on this console. We also see that they are going to Switch and by the end of the year Just Dance 2020 will be one of the best Switch games because more and more families are playing on this console, as happened with the Wii at the time.
Just Dance 2020 will be released on November 5 on Wii, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and Stadia. And that day, unless later some other studio wants to publish something on Wii with Nintendo’s consent, it will mark the true end of the console.
