St. Patrick's Day Parade in Queens County in the Rockaways

The St. Patrick’s Day parade in Queens County is the larger of the two Queens parades. Much larger. An annual event in the Rockaways, it draws huge crowds, up to 50,000 on a warm March afternoon. Neighborhood parade:

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Queens County is a high-spirited, but real, local event. It takes place almost two weeks before the Manhattan parade, which makes for a great warm-up for the larger parade.

The Rockaways is home to many Irish American families and has many of New York’s best and bravest as community members. The parade and the day are really the highlight of the year in the Rockaways – well, at least when the crowd isn’t on the beach.

Irish Pubs in the Rockaways:

A big plus for the Queens County St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the concentration of Irish bars and pubs in the area. However, they are too popular on St. Patrick’s Day. Don’t expect a seat at one of these bars if you expect to see the entire parade.

  • Irish Circle , 101-19 Rockaway Beach Blvd, Rockaway Park, 718-474-9002
