Success and face shape are related

Successful men have certain distinctive features on their faces, as shown in a study by the University of Sussex (UK) published in the British Journal of Psychology .

The research is based on the facial ratio of the width to the length of the face or FWH index , for its acronym in English, which is obtained by dividing the maximum horizontal distance of the right and left ends of the face by the distance separating the upper area from the lip of the highest point of the eyebrows. Well, according to scientists, the male faces that we associate with the most dominant and successful people are those with a high FWH ratio , that is, wider than long. Rather, we tend to associate elongated faces with limited leadership skills and lower levels of success.

According to Jamie Ward, co-author of the work, there are two possible explanations for this finding. One option is that FWH is actually a visible indicator of an individual's dominant personality, since it is also associated with certain levels of testosterone. The other possibility is that humans tend to choose broad-faced individuals as leaders .
