Bethany’s main characteristics
All the characters in the game have their own gameplay and Bethany is no exception. In his case it is characterized by the fact that he has no black heart or soul . When picking up one of these, it is consumed as a soul charge, being the only character with whom something like this happens.
The point is that Bethany always carries the Book of Virtues with her , which causes a soul flame to appear around her that protects her from impacts and also shoots. The point is that the book has 4 charges or in default the same ones of an object with charges that is collected.
Thus, to activate the book before it is fully charged, all it will do is that the missing points will consume soul charges . This is why soul hearts and black hearts are so helpful in Bethany’s case. On the contrary, if the book is fully charged, then it will not consume any soul charge.
