In an Australian radio program, the McLaren driver explained the funny anecdote that links him to the Briton, and that is that an image in which the artist was seen wearing a merchandising shirt of the Woking team member went viral on the networks social.
Despite not having a guaranteed seat for next season, Daniel Ricciardo told the story of Harry Styles with his usual smile and good humor with one of the clothes he sells in his official store: “It’s very funny, I was excited.”
“We have a mutual friend who is, shall we say, very close to me and is also someone close to him, so it’s fun,” the McLaren Australian said in Fitzy and Wippa . “When the photo went out on social media, the mutual friend was like ‘I can’t believe this hasn’t been caught before because he wears the shirt all the time. He [Harry Styles] is always in public wearing the shirt.”
When asked if he had already hung out with the singer at some point, Ricciardo replied: “I want to lie to you and say yes, we have seen each other many times and had a few beers together.”
“I haven’t met him yet. It makes it even better because he’s a fan even before he met me, right?” the Perth man explained about one of the leads in the recently released Don’t Worry Darling .
Harry Styles is not the only one who likes the McLaren driver’s clothes, since a few Grands Prix ago George Russell was seen wearing one of the sweatshirts from the collection called Enchanté, in which a lemon, flowers, yellow colors and Ricciardo’s traditional #3 were the stars.
Although the shirt that the famous singer is no longer available in the official store, it can be found on some websites, and who knows if it is possible to become friends with the Australian after wearing it on the street.
