Marc Márquez reappeared at the last Portuguese Grand Prix after almost nine months out due to injury. Despite the fact that the Honda rider managed to complete the demanding weekend in Portimao , he finished with obvious signs of physical exertion, so the doctors are still not giving him free rein to force the machine, and the rider himself admits that he has not gotten on a bike from the race two weeks ago.
With this measure, Márquez wants to avoid risks in his process of completing his rehabilitation, which does not prevent him from training in the physical aspect.
“We return to the rhythm of the races; After a productive week we are back on track. I have continued to work on my recovery program to make sure that my physical condition is improving”, explains the Honda rider in the run-up to the Spanish Grand Prix.
“Following the advice of the doctors, I have not been on a motorcycle since Portugal. So I’m excited to be able to get back on the bike”, adds Márquez , who is very limited in that aspect when it comes to regaining sensations riding.
Márquez saved his first grand prix after the injury without suffering a crash, managing to qualify sixth on the starting grid and finishing the race in sixth position, just over 13 seconds behind the winner, Fabio Quartararo .
“We approach Jerez in the same way as Portimao; we are here to keep improving step by step and do the best job we can”, he argues.
“My recovery continues and the important thing is that we continue to improve our consistency”, settles the man from Cervera .
