The strength of newborns never ceases to amaze us, not only parents but also doctors who come across cases like Neve. She was born premature, and her life expectancy was zero according to the doctors, so she was separated from her twin brother Louie at the time of delivery.
Laura, her mother, had to undergo an emergency cesarean section at week 30 of gestation at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital (United Kingdom) when she detected two weeks before that one of the babies, in separate bags, had affecting her flow blood due to the deterioration of the placenta, so it did not receive enough nutrients.
But they were all wrong, and their proud parents came across a beautiful scene of their children demonstrating the innate love that twin brothers feel. Laura Hough and Chris Carey have finally been able to share a photo of the two twin brothers finally hugging and holding hands after meeting for the first time two weeks after birth and that melt any heart.
“They are incredible. They are so strong. I couldn’t be more proud.”

But against all odds, her mother explains that she did not need oxygen to breathe, something “incredible. Doctors have never seen such a small baby not need help .” It was his brother Louie, who weighed 1.5 kg at birth, who had both lungs collapsed, so he ended up receiving treatment to drain his lungs.
But everything went well and the reunion was “so beautiful, they hugged and even held hands.”
But the road here was not easy for this 27-year-old first-time mother who says she came to labor terrified, since “I was told during the last weeks of my pregnancy that I might not survive, but I was fine.”
The twins were treated in different units until they got better and were finally reunited. So Laura admits that “it was horrible when they were separated at birth, but I cried with joy when they got back together.”
Finally, Louie and Neve have been allowed to be together in the same incubator . Their mother has pointed out that the doctors hope their children will be able to return home in May , something they are looking forward to with all their might.
