The future of Johann Zarco in MotoGP

Johann Zarco is in his third MotoGP season with Ducati and his second with the Pramac team. The contract of the two-time Moto2 world champion also expires at the end of the year, however, the Frenchman still does not think about his future.

Despite his options, the possibility of Zarco moving to the official Ducati team and taking the place of Jack Miller does not occupy the mind of the Frenchman, and he defends that the young promises Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martín would be the candidates for this position if Ducati you want to change something in the factory set.

“I want to show performance. If I do, there will be opportunities to continue with Ducati. Or I will have to think about other teams,” Zarco said.

That being the case, Johann Zarco would have to wait to find out Pramac’s intentions. “I don’t have a manager pushing teams all weekend. So hopefully that performance pays off in the talks.”

“Ducati knows my position very well. They know exactly what I’m doing. I’m very motivated, but I don’t have anyone to put pressure on them.”

However, the Frenchman’s main goal is to stay at Ducati.

“As long as I can fight for the podiums with Pramac, it would be nice to continue here. I think that if everything takes shape before the summer break, I will also do it before the summer,” he summed up regarding the extension of the contract.

And although Zarco has not yet won a MotoGP race, the team assures that the Frenchman has a good chance of staying with the Italians.

“We are very happy with Johann,” Pramac boss Paolo Campinoti told Canal+ . “We are convinced that he can stay with us. We will also do everything to make him stay with us.”

“We always make decisions with Ducati. You can say that we have a direct influence. And we want Johann to stay with us. It also depends on whether he wants to stay, but we have a very good relationship. We are very happy and I hope he stays,” he said. .
