Maverick Viñales was the fastest driver during the third and final day of shakedown for rookies, concession teams and test drivers. The rider from Rosas was accompanied by Aprilia , which together with Aleix Espargaró, had his entire team finishing in first and second position respectively on the time sheet of the Malaysian circuit.
The rookie from Madrid, Raúl Fernández, finished in third place on the time sheet after shining during the first day at the demanding Sepang circuit. This result differs from that achieved by his Tech3 teammate Remy Gardner, who stopped the clock as the sixth fastest behind Marco Bezzecchi and Michele Pirro.
During this day it was also possible to see the HRC test driver. Stefan Bradl has contested his second day on the RC213V with a seventh place on the time sheet.
Going by Wednesday’s chart, Guintoli rode a total of 27 laps alongside fellow Suzuki GSX-RR rider Takuya Tsuda.
Moto3 rookie Darryn Binder finished ninth on his third and final day of shakedown on behalf of premier class newcomer WithU Yamaha RNF team. The rookie Fabio Di Giannantonio has not had the same luck, who has only been able to complete the 38 laps made on Monday due to gastroenteritis.
With this third and final day, the MotoGP shakedown ends, the prelude to the official pre-season tests in which the rest of the regular riders can be seen on their prototypes this coming weekend (February 5 and 6).
