Companies generally try to keep ads related to their video games safe so that nothing is leaked. Unfortunately, it is not always possible and with the Pokémon Sword and Shield editions, too much information was leaked about some of the new features that were going to be included in both games and had not been officially revealed until that moment.
At that time The Pokémon Company managed to catch those responsible and sue them, which led to a legal process that has ended this week in favor of those responsible for these Nintendo Switch deliveries. This means that the two people who were dedicated to leaking the information of the games are required to pay a whopping $ 150,000 each .
Apparently one of the defendants was part of the company LSC Communications , in charge of printing the strategy guide that was being prepared before the official launch of these titles and was guilty of taking illicit photos. As for the second, it was a user who received these captures and dedicated himself to distributing them in a public Discord chat .
For this reason, The Pokémon Company accused both of causing severe damage and prejudice, since the images showed the Gigamax form of some Pokémon that was not known yet, as well as some unpublished functions. Thus, the company indicated that the leaks produced irreparable damage that seriously affected the interest that the games were generating.
In fact, there was even a third user who also leaked information. The culprit, who was part of a website in Portugal, had a press copy that helped him join the leaks , although luckily Nintendo located him quickly. In addition to the fine that fell, the medium became part of the black list of the big N to never participate in events and analysis of any of its games.
