The registration fees of each team for F1 2022

As part of a restructuring of Formula 1 in 2013 to help boost revenue for motorsport’s governing body, teams have faced high entry fees to enter the 2022 world championship.

It is based on a two-tier system, in which the constructors’ champion must pay a higher contribution than all other teams on the grid.

Fees for 2022 have been released in the latest version of the F1 Sporting Regulations and are 1.4% inflated compared to last season.

In the 2022 fees, the constructors’ champion, Mercedes in this case, must pay a base fee of €509,785 plus €6,116 for each point earned.

All other teams on the grid have to pay a base fee of €509,785 plus €5,095 for each point scored.

In total, Mercedes must pay €4,262,102 for the 2022 season based on the 613.5 points added throughout last year.

That figure is up slightly from what Mercedes paid in 2021, but it’s still far less than the record $4,848,853 they had to pay in 2020 after their dominant 2019.

Red Bull’s performance improvement last year has also seen his entry fee rise from almost €2.5M in 2021 to almost €3.5M for 2022. The 585.5 points he picked up in 2021 has left him with a total bill of 3,493,142 million euros.

Ferrari have also seen their fees rise sharply thanks to their improved form last year. Having paid just over €1.2M to compete in 2021, he now has to pay just over €2M for 2022.

Haas, on the other hand, was the only team not to score points for all of last year, meaning it only has to pay the base entry fee.
