The Sony Rewards program now allows you to convert trophies into redeemable money in the PSN store

The Sony Rewards loyalty system takes a giant step towards the most loyal players: starting today, all users attached to the service will be able to sign up for the Trophy Pass program, allowing them to convert the trophies they obtain on Sony systems (PS4 , PS3 and PS Vita) in real credit to use on PlayStation Network .

This means that the silver, gold and platinum trophies that we get playing will have an equivalence in points that, in turn, we can convert into the balance of the Playstation digital store , allowing us to acquire games and content based on our feats. Now, there are a number of nuances to consider.

The exchange system is very simple: from the outset, we will have to obtain a minimum amount of silver, gold or platinum trophies so that they have their equivalent in points. So when we achieve 100 silver trophies we will have achieved 100 points, which is equal to one dollar.

What’s more, here you can see the table of equivalences of the Trophy Pass program :

Trophy Type

Equivalence in Points

Credit on PlayStation Network

100 silver trophies

100 points

1 dollar

25 gold trophies

250 points

2.5 dollars

10 platinum trophies

1000 points

10 dollars

Unfortunately, the Sony Rewards program (like other PlayStation digital services) is only available in the United States , so it is currently not possible to benefit from it through a European account. On the other hand, as indicated by the Pushsquare medium, the rewards are not retroactive.

In other words: it doesn’t matter if you have 20 platinum trophies right now, this initiative will only recognize the points obtained from the trophies obtained after enrolling in the Trophy Pass program. All in all, it cannot be denied that it is a particularly interesting incentive.

The PlayStation trophy system arrived in January 2009 and since then each player has given it a different importance. Of course, before they were active, Sony already tested the possibility of rewarding the most dedicated users. Something that Microsoft captured with discounts (quite improvable) for those who obtain more points for achievements.

There are trophy hunters who do not mind acquiring games in order to obtain easy points, others consider it a curious reward for obtaining a special feat or discovery and – we will not deny it – for some developers, it is a way to empower the sales of certain titles compared to other proposals of greater or lesser interest in the face of the former.

We already made a list of the easiest points that could be obtained for little money.Hopefully it won’t take long to use it.
