It began as a game during lockdown in the city of Salt Lake City, Utah. John Maxim and David Cline presented the city’s residents with the $ 5,000 treasure hunt, and it became a success for the city’s residents and for people from various corners of the country.
Those responsible have wanted to give continuity to the game and have already raised their new treasure hunt, this time with 8,000 euros at stake -10,000 dollars – which they intend not to be found until the end of the summer.
In the previous search, planned as a game of clues, it only lasted four days thanks to the interaction through social networks that the participants had.

1,000 people already participate
As soon as they launched the new challenge in the middle of this month, the news spread like wildfire throughout the country, and now there are 1,000 participants who have fully immersed themselves in this treasure hunt.
The idea came up during the pandemic last year. The creators wanted to encourage citizens to lift their spirits. “We just felt that morale was low as a community, just because everyone had been locked up for a long time,” one of the creators, David Cline, explained to Fox News.
For Cline, this new challenge is much more powerful and striking, which is why they hope that it can be extended during the months of July and August, although he assured the newspaper that the strength of the community is very great: “the response and the genius of the community is too powerful for that, so we wait at least a couple of weeks.
They do not know for sure how many participants are looking for the treasure right now, although they estimate that there may be about 1,000 people arriving from many parts of the country. “For us, the joy is simply seeing families, friends and couples and everyone going out into the mountains and discovering new places and having a good time doing it,” explained Cline, enthusiastic about the level of participation in this second edition.
Every Friday, through their social networks, new clues will be posted, which will be attached to the starting letter and the map that the participants can have to know the areas defined for the search.
The organizers assure that not only people go for the money, they do it for the challenge and for the fun of following the clues that are presented to them every week.
