The two young riders from the Mooney VR46 Racing Team achieved their joint best qualifying of the season as Marco Bezzecchi achieved his best result in his first season in the top class, going straight into Q2 and qualifying sixth on the grid. Luca Marini, Valentino Rossi’s brother, had to fight a bit more, but he earned a place in Q2 from Q1 and finished with the eighth fastest time, both will start from the top of the grid this Sunday, all on day in which the Italian star returned to the MotoGP paddock for the first time since his retirement.
