This is the MotoGP transfer market for 2023

The Portuguese is probably the piece that will unblock most of the operations that are still on hold. Neither the expected arrival of Joan Mir at HRC , as Marc Márquez’s partner, nor the pulse between Jorge Martín and Enea Bastianini to win the second Ducati of the official team, should have any influence on the rest of the operations that have yet to materialize. Oliveira’s future, on the other hand, will open some doors and close others.

Until last weekend’s German Grand Prix, everything seemed agreed for Oliveira to accept Gresini ‘s proposal, to replace Bastianini with a view to 2023. However, just a few days later it is not so clear that Oliveira will get on board a Ducati next year.

The conditions of the offer are comparable to those that the Gresini broker enjoys this year, but not to those that he has won for next year. Like Bastianini, Miguel Oliveira would not have the latest specification of the Desmosedici , but would drive the previous model, that is, the 2022 one. The salary that has been offered to the man from Pragal is around a quarter of a million euros. It happens that Ducati faces this amount in the case of Bastianini, while, if the maneuver with Oliveira is closed, that game should come directly from the team’s coffers, because the pilot’s profile does not fit within the manufacturer’s training policy from Borgo Panigale .

The second option that #88 has on the table is that of RNF . The lack of results for the couple formed by Andrea Dovizioso and Darryn Binder has led Razlan Razali to promote a renewal at all levels. With the change from Yamaha to Aprilia as a motorcycle supplier, the Malaysian structure saves more or less about three million euros. That allows Razali to offer Oliveira half a million euros.

With these two paths clearly marked, in recent days he has revitalized another that seemed to be at a standstill: accepting KTM’s proposal to return to Tech3 , a formation with which he won two of the four victories on his record, and which he initially rejected. feeling slighted by executives at Mattighofen .

Despite the initial heat, Oliveira feels comfortable on the RC16, a feeling supported by the statistics: he is the rider who has won the most races with that bike. In addition to knowing this prototype well, the economic aspect practically doubles the amount that he would receive in RNF, and stands at one million euros, bonuses for results apart.

“They are just rumours”, Oliveira himself affirmed, this Saturday, when asked about the possibility of undoing the path he followed in 2021, when he left the troop led by Hervé Poncharal , to promote the orange motorcycle factory team . The problem with going back to Tech3 lies basically in how to sell it after having said publicly that he hadn’t even considered that alternative, which he considered almost an offense.

Before, Oliveira also entered into conversations with LCR, who, however, in recent days activated the possible hiring of Alex Rins, who also has the RNF route open. In the event that he finally goes back and stays within the KTM family, it seems increasingly clear that his neighbor in the workshop will be Pol Espargaró, who, in this way, would get back on the prototype with which he has achieved the best results so far. : five podiums and two pole positions.

If the Portuguese and the Spaniard get together there, those who would be left out would be Raúl Fernández and Remy Gardner, the two rookies that this course promoted from Moto2, who are at the mercy of what KTM wants to do with them.
