Top 100 MICE Hotels in the US

Each year, Cvent announces its list of America’s Best Meeting Hotels. Cvent is a cloud-based enterprise event management platform. It operates the world’s largest global markets for group meeting business through its Cvent Provider Network (CSN). The CSN includes more than 218,000 hotels, resorts and venues for special events in more than 175 countries.

The top 100 hotels for meetings include 20 properties in Florida; 10 in Texas and nine in Las Vegas.

Top brands include Marriott Hotels, with 24 properties on the list.

Hilton properties also earned the rating multiple times.

The MICE segment is one of the most sought after in the hotel industry. It is an extremely competitive business, especially when it comes to large groups. Traditionally, MICE events generate more revenue for hotels than individual business, leisure or FIT travel bookings.

“Hotels compete aggressively for group business, which can be a substantial part of their revenue mix and more profitable than leisure or transient business travel,” said Bharet Malhotra, senior vice president of supplier network sales at Cvent. . “This year’s list has a number of changes to the top 100, including 18 new properties that removed some from last year’s list. Hotels are constantly investing in upgrades to their meeting space and rooms, as well as their capabilities to support meetings and events.

“By developing Cvent’s supplier network, we have created a robust marketplace that serves as a funnel that brings group business volume to the hospitality industry and helps hotels with the critical first step of winning group business: creating visibility among a large audience of event organizers. «

Methodology

Here’s how Cvent compiled its Top 100 list. The company evaluated the hotel properties that generated business through Cvent’s provider network from September 2013 to August 2014. It ranked properties based on various criteria, such as total requests for Proposals (RFP), RFPs awarded, total room nights, awarded room nights, significant metropolitan area market share (MMA), conversion rate and unique visits to the hotel’s profile in the Cvent provider network.

To be included in the list, hotels must have more than 50,000 square feet of total meeting space and more than 10 or more meeting rooms.
