At a traffic light near Hanover, a truck crashes into the side of a bus. A 29-year-old inmate dies, many are injured. How did the momentous collision come about?
Langenhagen – After the serious accident of a bus with a dead and many injuries in Langenhagen, Lower Saxony, the cause of the accident is still being searched for.
According to a police spokeswoman, some witnesses said the traffic lights were not in operation at the time of the accident. However, other witnesses gave different information. The truck wanted to drive straight ahead at the intersection, the articulated bus on line 380 came from the right, the spokeswoman said.
A 29-year-old woman was fatally injured in the accident in Langenhagen near Hanover, as a police spokesman in Hanover said on Tuesday morning. She stood in the bus and was thrown out in the collision on Monday evening. The tractor unit without a trailer hit the side of the bus at an intersection “apparently with full force”.
19 people were injured – four of them seriously. The 46-year-old seriously injured truck driver and the 45-year-old slightly injured bus driver were taken to hospital. Four children were among the injured passengers, one was seriously injured and flown to the hospital by helicopter. dpa
