A young couple died in a car accident on a country road near Meinerzhagen in the Märkisches Kreis.
Gummersbach – The 19-year-old driver was in the car with his girlfriend of the same age on Saturday evening when he lost control of the vehicle on the slightly sloping, winding country road and left the road, police said. The 19-year-old then drove his car back across the green strip onto the street and collided with the oncoming car of a 39-year-old.
The young couple died at the scene of the accident. The 39-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to a special clinic in a rescue helicopter. dpa
