Munich – Since the beginning of March, around 45,000 Ukrainian war refugees have sought protection in Bavaria. To date, almost 150,000 Ukrainian refugees have been registered across Germany.
Ukraine War – Bavaria: Registration of Ukraine refugees important for distribution
Meanwhile, Bavaria is continuing to press the federal government for comprehensive registration of war refugees from Ukraine who have arrived in Germany. Registration by the federal police at the borders is important because otherwise a “reasonable distribution” of people to the federal states would be left to chance, said Head of State Florian Herrmann (CSU) on Tuesday after a meeting of the Bavarian cabinet in Munich. However, Herrmann emphasized that there seems to be some movement in the federal government.
Bavaria is ready to make its contribution so that people in this country can be provided with good humanitarian accommodation. “We’re doing everything we can to help,” Herrmann said. Nevertheless, this is a major challenge due to the sheer number of refugees. Bavaria will continue to prepare in order to be able to accommodate people in the best possible way.
