Austin.- The Pramac team rider stole the pole position from Jack Miller in the last breath of a dizzying time trial, in which Fabio Quartararo (sixth) crashed in a surprising way in his first session. The turn of the Spaniard helped him to establish a new track record, even though the resurfacing that was carried out well ago obviously had an impact on it.
Miller and Bagnaia will accompany Martín on the front row, while Johann Zarco and Enea Bastianini will start this Sunday fourth and fifth, respectively.
Once again, Suzuki was destined for the third row, with Alex Rins (seventh), picked up from the first qualifying round (Q1) and who managed to finish just ahead of Joan Mir (eighth), his workshop neighbor .
Marc Marquez, who has much more potential in the long lap and race-view stints than in a single lap, will start ninth, while Takaaki Nakagami will start 10th.
Pol Espargaró, still injured as a result of the gastroenteritis that has been dragging on since Thursday night, could not get past 12th place. His brother, Aleix, provisional leader of the points table, will start immediately behind him, and Maverick Viñales will be 14th.
