Washington DC
Capitol Hill Books – 657 C St. SE, Washington, DC (202) 544-1621. The two-story used bookstore is a great place to find a variety of vintage books ranging from biographies to politics to mystery journeys.
Idle Times Books – 2467 18th St. NW, Washington, DC (202) 232-4774. Located in Adams Morgan, the used bookstore has been in operation since 1981 and is a member of the Washington Antique Booksellers Association. They feature used books as well as greeting cards, newspapers, records, and CDs.
Second Story Books & Antiques – 2000 P St. NW, Washington, DC (202) 659-8884. The store has one of the largest collections of used books in the world. It has been in operation since 1973 and is a member of the Washington Antique Booksellers Association. Many rare items are in the Rockville warehouse and may require an appointment to be viewed.
Maryland

Kensington Row Bookstore – 3786 Howard Ave. Kensington, Maryland (301) 949-9416. The used bookstore sells used, out of print and unusual books. Poetry readings, book talks, and other literary events are held here regularly.
Second Story Books & Antiques – 12160 Parklawn Dr. Rockville, MD (301) 770-0477. The Rockville location serves as a warehouse for the store and has one of the largest used book collections in the world. It has been in operation since 1973 and is a member of the Washington Antique Booksellers Association.

Book Bank – 1510 King St. Alexandria, Virginia (703) 838-3620. Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, the store offers fiction, non-fiction and children’s books.
Claude Moore Colonial Farm Bookstore – 6310 Georgetown Pike, McLean, Virginia (703) 442-7557. The living history museum has a used bookstore with fiction, non-fiction, first editions, old volumes, fine bindings, first editions and some rare, special and signed volumes.
Also CDs, DVDs, videos, LPs, and tapes. All proceeds go to support the Farm’s educational programs.
