The trip to Barcelona to play the 2022 Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix was the ideal for Sebastian Vettel to find the path of good results after a difficult start to the year.
The German driver missed the first two appointments of the course with the new generation single-seaters due to his positive for COVID-19, and that reduced his learning with these cars.
However, the introduction of a highly criticized upgrade package in the paddock for its resemblance to Red Bull pontoons by Aston Martin, was the perfect opportunity to continue scoring points after the 4 he achieved at Imola.
There was no luck for the German, who was left out in Q1 due to a bad lap in qualifying, and even less in the race, where he could only reach 11th position, more than a lap behind the leader.
The weekend could not have been worse for Vettel, but life had another bad drink in store for him in Barcelona. The pilot was in Barcelona on Monday morning with his family driving an Aston Martin street car, as revealed by EL PERIÓDICO .
When he was in front of a hotel in the center of the city, some thieves took advantage of an oversight by the German and stole a backpack containing some airpods with a locator.
For this reason, Vettel was able to pursue the assailants using his iPhone as a guide, although he could not find them, since they left the headphones in a vase in a shopping center.
The police have been informed of the case, and they are already working to find the people who were involved in this incident with Sebastian Vettel, who has lost his personal documentation because it was inside the backpack that was stolen.
An Aston Martin spokesman confirmed to Motorsport.com on Monday afternoon that the German had been a victim of the theft: “A Sebastian Vettel backpack was stolen in Barcelona this morning. He tried to find it by using his iPhone to track down his airpods, which were inside. , but when he located his headphones he found them lying around, and therefore, he couldn’t locate his stolen backpack.”
