Vettel, to testify for his behavior at the drivers' meeting

The Aston Martin driver had to testify in front of the stewards at 18:00 on Saturday, local time at the Red Bull Ring for an incident that occurred during the drivers’ meeting that took place at the circuit after qualifying on Friday in the evening.

Details of his hearing with the stewards are still unclear, as the FIA bulletin states: “Alleged infringement of article 12.2.1 f) of the International Sporting Code and article 20.1 of the FIA Formula 1 Sporting Regulations – Behavior at the Drivers’ Meeting at 19:30”.

Article 12.2.1 refers to an “infringement of the Code, FIA regulations, if any, national rules, or any Supplementary Regulations” and could lead to a penalty for Vettel.

In addition to what happened with the German, four drivers have also been cited for a possible infringement of the regulations in relation to their messages during the extra formation lap.

Mick Schumacher , Daniel Ricciardo , George Russell and Esteban Ocon will meet this afternoon from Austria with the stewards for an “alleged breach of article 33.1 of the FIA Formula 1 Sporting Regulations – Messages to the drivers during the second formation lap at 4:33 p.m.

Mercedes driver and GPDA director George Russell spoke of the need for more consistency from the stewards when asked about the FIA’s call to Vettel after the sprint race, saying “a lot has happened.” decisions or maneuvers to the limit this season”.

“We don’t want to dole out penalties left and right, but there has to be consistency somewhere,” the Englishman said. “We have to look for the root of the problems, and with those track limit infringements, the setback is the circuit.

“We’re not going to figure it out until the tracks change, and at Turn 4 in Austria that’s not going to happen to you, like if you compare it to the first one here or Silverstone last week,” he explained.

Asked by Motorsport.com if the drivers felt heard, Russell replied: “Yes, but they can’t change the rules after a week when someone says something different.

“They have to stand firm, but it needs to be applied in a consistent way, that it be clear to all of us. The sanctions have to be more consistent, and that will only be achieved if there is consistency on the part of the people who monitor the regulation,” sentenced the Mercedes driver.
