Marc Márquez’s race at Mugello barely lasted one lap. In the second, upon reaching turn 3, on the right, he fell to the ground and was unable to rejoin. Although the Spaniard tried to lift the bike, he ended up throwing in the towel seeing the damage and abandoned.
The Spaniard was fighting for ninth place with Brad Binder and when he returned to the box he complained about a touch with the South African from KTM. Franco Morbidelli was also involved in the incident, who was coming from behind and went wide trying to avoid the #93 Honda in the corner but was able to return to the track in last position.
For Márquez it is his second consecutive retirement due to a crash, along with Le Mans , in the four races held in 2021 since his reappearance after nine months injured. It is the second time that he has abandoned two consecutive races for this reason since competing in MotoGP. The previous occasion was in 2015, when it did not finish either in Mugello or in Barcelona .
Pecco Bagnaia crashes while leading
The Ducati rider overtook Fabio Quartararo at the start and took the lead heading into Turn 1. Bagnaia passed with a tenth lead at the finish line and was trying to open a gap when he lost the lead at Turn 9. front end and went to the ground.

The #63 , however, was one of the most consistent this year with three podiums in five races and a sixth place as the worst result.
The race got off to a fast start before the lights went out. During the warm up lap , Enea Bastianini ran into Johann Zarco on the finish straight going slowly and had to brake suddenly, doing an inverted.
