This year Alonso did not appear at the glamorous France Football gala, but Alpine’s ties to the event continued and it was his teammate Ocon who carried one of the Ballon d’Ors, which this time went to Karim Benzema and again to the Spanish Alexia Putellas , historical double winner.
Thus, Ocon, in a Lotus Renault E21 from the 2013 season painted in the current colors of Alpine, carried the Ballon d’Or tied to the engine cover of his car to the Théâtre Du Châtelet in Paris and then, before kissing it and posing with he (still in overalls and gloves) deposited it in its place for later delivery.
However, and despite the fact that Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon broke into the gala that began in 2021 to discover their faces and reveal their identity, #31 this time was not part of the ceremony.

Alpine will have a 100% French line-up next season and will continue to be the team that represents the country in Formula 1.
