The home grand prix is always special, and even if it is thousands of kilometers from your hometown, if a team has received you as well as Red Bull Sergio Pérez, it is a detail to make a commemorative helmet. In the run-up to the Austrian race, on the circuit owned by the Milton Keynes team, the Mexican surprised everyone with a personalized design quite far removed from what we are used to seeing in Czech.
With a video on the Austrian team’s social networks, Pérez revealed the aspect of the piece that he will add to his collection of special helmets, since, as he has acknowledged, it was “one of his favourites”.
In the small recording of the energy drink team in its motorhome on the Spielberg track, where the eleventh Formula 1 round of 2022 will be held, the Mexican explained the reason for that helmet.
“Hello everyone, we are in a very special moment of the weekend, the moment in which I reveal the appearance of my helmet, which is always here in the Red Bull Ring,” said the one from Guadalajara.
“Driving for Red Bull is always special, and I have decided to make a new edition of the helmet,” he continued. “We’ve got a mix of white and red with the Mexican flag all over the top, but also a little bit of chrome on the back.”
“What makes this helmet special is the details, all of them with things from Spielberg. It’s always a challenge to keep ideas new and fresh, and I have to say that it’s one of my favorites, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. I did,” added the second-placed driver in the overall standings, who is chasing Max Verstappen.
Precisely the Dutchman has also taken the opportunity to debut a helmet design in Austria, as he usually does, but this time he has opted for lighter tones, with brilliant to highlight and, who knows if to show that he is the absolute king of this appointment, since it is the one that has the most winner trophies in its showcases in this circuit, with four.
