“I am happy to see that all the work we are doing is paying off,” the Catalan acknowledged to the DAZN microphones. “I’m happy to give a lap to the limit, that’s what I liked the most. Feeling that I’ve gone to the limit and that I’ve been able to give my 100%”.
He describes his time of 1:57.865 as “spectacular”, and acknowledges that “I really went very fast”. In Q2, the absolute record of the circuit was broken, with six drivers lapped below the mark registered by Marc Márquez in 2019.
“I’m really looking forward to tomorrow,” he added. “I have felt very good throughout the weekend, in FP4 we had a good pace and we know we are capable of achieving it. Tomorrow we have to go all out, there is no other way”.
