Viñales leads a warm up with Aleix Espargaró falling

Aleix Espargaró, poleman and great protagonist of the weekend, gave the scare when he suffered a rapid fall in the curve in the final part of the warm-up of the Catalunya Grand Prix, which is being held this weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona. The Aprilia driver, fortunately, got up quickly without apparent consequences and will be able to start from the first frame of the grid, starting at two in the afternoon this Sunday.

Precisely his teammate, Maverick Viñales, set the fastest time in the warm-up on Sunday morning, with a time of 1.40.135, beating the Gresini duo, Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio, with Alex Rins fourth and himself Alex fifth. Brad Binder on the KTM was sixth beating Joan Mir, in his best qualifying of the weekend. Miguel Oliveira was 8th, closing the top ten positions Franco Morbidelli and Andrea Dovizioso.

Alex Márquez, who suffered a heavy crash in FP4 on Saturday and missed out on qualifying, which is why he will start last on the grid, finished 11th after being declared fit by the doctors in an early check-up, being the first Honda on the sheet of times.

Johann Zarco was 12th ahead of Fabio Quartararo, Jorge Martín, Takkaki Nakagami and a late Pol Espargaró, who was 17th. Ducati’s Australian Jack Miller finished 21st.
