While discussing the legality of the Mercedes W13, the Ferrari team has revealed some of the secrets of the F1-75.
So far, the Maranello team has regularly racked up kilometers and has hardly been seen in the pits, however, between batches, the mechanics were forced to remove part of the engine cover to make adjustments to the car and Giorgio Piola has been able to analyze what the pontoons of the new Ferrari F1-75 of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz hide.

Although Mercedes used the upper anti-intrusion cone to give life to a kind of central spoiler, separating it from the car’s own body, in Maranello they prefer to exploit the lower area, not only for safety reasons, but also for structural reasons.
The image, in fact, allows us to observe how the bottom of the Venturi tunnel is also anchored to the cone, to prevent the floor of the car from flexing more than it should and thus try to avoid major headaches with porpoising .
Looking at the car from the right hand side, we can see that the Italian team’s technicians have packed three radiators from the 066/7 power unit cooling system.
The concept is not very different from the one already seen in the SF1000 : the intention of the engineers being led by Enrico Cardile is to keep the weight of the car as low as possible, avoiding mounting too many cooling elements above the 6 cylinders, in order to thus also maintaining a profile that focuses on gaining advantage through the efficiency of the rear wing.
You can also see the conveyor belts that have the function of directing the hot air towards the open gills at the top of the pontoons, thus facilitating the extraction of all the hot air from the side while maintaining good fluid dynamics.
