What if the Earth stopped spinning?

The hypothesis is unrealistic, but if the Earth stopped rotating, the first effect would be the end of days and nights. The days would no longer be 24 hours , but a year. The climatic changes, in addition, would devastate the planet . But it is not all. The geographical distribution of the continental and oceanic masses would be different.

Without the centrifugal force derived from the rotational movement , the gravitational force would remain, which would generate a redistribution of gravity that would alter the balance of the oceans. On the new Earth , two huge oceans would form around the poles, separated by a single 'continent on the equator'. Entire regions would be flooded. In Europe, only Spain, Greece, and southern Italy would emerge from the waters. The highest mountain on Earth would then be the Chimborazo volcano, in Ecuador, which is currently the furthest point from the center of the Earth.
