What is Capgras Syndrome?

Described in 1923, Capgras Syndrome or Sosias delusion is a psychiatric disorder that consists in the non-identification of familiar people, affirming imaginary differences and believing that real people have been replaced by a double, an almost identical impostor . It is an acknowledgment without a sense of familiarity. It is typical of this syndrome that the spouse or child of the patient induces partial recognition ("does it look like?") But insufficient to be convinced of their real identity. There may even be a belief that there are doubles of oneself . Usually this syndrome is part of a psychosis.
