We have already observed on other occasions that sexual arousal can be determined in the most varied ways possible. Is it possible to get sexually aroused with music? That's how it is. That's what this paraphilia is about.
Melolagnia is a paraphilia in which the source of pleasure comes not from sexual practice but from a song, a melody, the music itself (and this does not have to be erotic or suggestive). That is, most of us enjoy the pleasure of a good composition but those who suffer from melolagnia go further, finding a real sexual pleasure in the tones, the voices and everything that surrounds the musical composition.
In relation to sounds, we have other curious paraphilias: acousticphilia in which increased excitement occurs when specific sounds are heard through the walls; audioeroticism, in which sexual pleasure is obtained by listening to intimate conversations, sexual sighs or other forms of intimate expression that come from another partner; Opholagnia, in which sexual arousal is motivated by listening to erotic songs or noises, or ligirophilia, in which sexual pleasure is obtained through loud noises.
