Jerez.- Ducati is, right now, the benchmark bike. The Italian team brought three 2022 bikes, one for each of the official riders, Pecco Bagnaia and Jack Miller, and a third prototype for the Pramac team, which will be ridden one day by Jorge Martín, probably this Thursday, and the other day by Johann Zarco. Little is known about what they have mounted on that prototype for next season, apart from the new engine, which is different from the current bike, and a rather showy and long exhaust pipe on the right side.
The Borgo Panigale factory, with the data collected during this test, will finish off the five bikes for next year, which Luca Marini will not be able to test until the Sepang test in February. Marco Bezzechi, Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Gianantonio already went out on the track this Thursday with the 2021 version that will correspond to them next year and with which Pecco or Jorge have achieved great results.

At Yamaha there is total secrecy about parts and news, although Fabio Quartararo, this year’s world champion, was not happy at all.
“We tested a very similar bike to the Misano bike, to be honest it was the Misano bike. So we tried that, new swingarm, some electronics, anti wheelie . To be honest, it was very similar to Misano”, said the Frenchman quite upset.
At Suzuki , Joan Mir has been riding the 2022 bike, with the new engine, frame and swingarm, while Alex Rins has fitted the engine and swingarm. For this Friday they will wear a new fairing, with evolved aerodynamics, completely black, which means that it is different from the current one. At the end of the day, the two drivers were satisfied with the large number of new parts that the Hamamatsu brand brought for the tests, with a rise in mood, especially in a Mir that finished the Valencia race very badly.
Honda has put on the track in the hands of Alex Márquez and Takaaki Nakagami two versions of the 2022 bike, many of the parts already tested in Misano, and of which the team has not reported, as usual. This Friday Pol Espargaró will be able to have both prototypes to give his verdict which, given the absence of Marc Márquez due to his eye injury, should mark the way forward for the engineers during the winter.

Little or no Aprilia work in the test, and Aleix Espargaró lamented about them in conversation with Motorsport.com.
“We have not been able to try anything new. The engine is somewhat different, but only built for internals, not performance. Everything is practically the same: the chassis is the same and we have not been able to test the aerodynamics, so we have carried out transparent tests. Tomorrow, Friday, we will take the opportunity to try some setting things, but practically nothing new. We will have to wait for Malaysia.”
“I was hoping that something would come, but it hasn’t given time. It’s always good to test new things in this last test of the year, so the engineers have plenty of time over the winter to analyze the data and tweak whatever needs to be tweaked. I know there are a lot of new things, but it will all come at the Malaysian test (February) and it’s a bit fair for the first race. Let’s trust that everything works, because if it doesn’t we won’t have time to change it”, lamented the one from Granollers (Barcelona).
Dani Pedrosa, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing
Finally, KTM started the day with the 2021 painted bikes, but already at noon introduced black prototypes, the 2022 ones, with many new features and next year’s engine. The Austrians have managed to introduce an important novelty and that is that the mechanical gesture of lowering the height of the motorcycle on inclines is no longer done by means of a button, but is done automatically when the motorcycle detects that the suspension reaches its maximum , a novelty that Aprilia introduced this year and that Ducati also incorporated into its bikes, now available to the KTMs of Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder.
