What time is the MotoGP Qatar GP 2022 qualifying?

  • Date : Saturday, March 5, 2022
  • Start time : 4:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time) Q1 starts

The first race of the 2022 MotoGP season takes place this Sunday at the Losail International Circuit. A new MotoGP course will start on the Qatari track, with a qualifying format made up of the usual Q1 and Q2.

How do Q1 and Q2 work?

Those pilots with the 10 best times in the combined after FP3, enter the so-called ‘Q2’, where they will fight for pole position in the first race of the year. The remaining 14 drivers (this year there are 24 prototypes on the grid) will battle in Q1 for one of the two places offered by Q2 to fight for the fastest record. The duration of each session is 15 minutes, and for this reason:

  • Q1 will start at 16:00, and 15 minutes later we will know the names of the two drivers who will go to Q2.
  • Q2 , meanwhile, will start at 16:25. During this qualifying session we will discover who is the author of the first pole position of the year and how the 2022 Qatar Grand Prix grid will be organized.

When and how to see the classification of the Qatar GP?

DAZN is the most used channel to closely follow the MotoGP sessions. In addition, its content is saved on the platform to be able to enjoy it on a delayed basis, so you can also enjoy the classification afterwards if you are late for the broadcast. The next option is through the Movistar+ motorsport package. It costs €10 and you can closely follow the entire qualifying day.

Likewise, the MotoGP Videopass will offer a complete broadcast of all the sessions that make up the Qatar Grand Prix. These alternatives are the most used among MotoGP fans, but all of them are paid. In this way, if you have a free link, we are obliged to remind you that it is illegal.

However, with our app, available for free for iOS and Android (you can find it by clicking on the banner below), you can closely follow all the details of the first race of the season through chronicles, statements and photos of all the sessions that make up a grand prize.
