When is the next F1 and MotoGP race?

After a frenetic weekend with the Australian F1 Grand Prix and the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas, the premier categories of motorsport and motorcycling rest at Easter and their fans will have to wait 14 days to see another race.

We remember that this year F1 and MotoGP will coincide for fewer weekends, nine times waiting to see how and when the Russian GP is replaced, and they have already done so twice. The next grand prix of the two world championships will also be the same, but they will not collide again until the end of next month.

When and where is the next Formula 1 race?

Formula 1 returns in two weeks, with the 2022 Emilia Romagna GP at Imola , from Friday April 22 to Sunday April 24.

It will be the first European race after two races in Asia (Bahrain and Saudi Arabia) and one in Oceania (Australia), and after that there will be another break of a week before crossing the pond to America for the first Miami Grand Prix of the history.

The one on April 24 will be the third Emilia Romagna Grand Prix (officially called the Made in Italy and Emilia Romagna Grand Prix ) after Imola achieved a gap to return to the F1 calendar as plan B in the face of the pandemic in 2020. Then he repeated in 2021 and recently signed a contract to continue in the category until at least 2025.

Imola, in addition to the Emilia Romagna GP, has hosted the Italian GP once (in 1980) and 26 editions of the San Marino GP , from 1981 to 2006.

Imola will arrive as a solid world leader after two wins in three races by Charles Leclerc, with Ferrari comfortably leading the constructors’ championship.

When is the next MotoGP race and on which circuit?

The next race in the motorcycle world championship (that is, MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3) will be the Portuguese Grand Prix at the Algarve International Circuit (Portimao), from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 April.

In 2021, MotoGP did not stop at Easter and we were able to enjoy the Doha Grand Prix, but this year there will be a break during that date marked on the calendar as a vacation for many people.

The one in Portugal will be the first European race, the beginning of the phase of the season with more comfortable schedules for Spain, after two races in Asia (Qatar and Indonesia) and two in America (Argentina and the United States).

In fact, after Portugal, the Spanish GP in Jerez will come without a break, before two other races in Europe in May, first the French GP and then the Italian GP.

In Portugal, after the first four rounds of the world championship, Enea Bastianini will arrive as the leader of the drivers’ championship, and Suzuki leads the teams’ championship.
