Where to find the best Irish pubs in Seattle

Seattle and beer go together like two peas in a pod, so finding the perfect pint of Guinness in Seattle for St. Patrick’s Day shouldn’t be a problem. But make no mistake: Irish pubs are fun at any time of the year! The aptly named Emerald City is home to the most Irish pubs and restaurants per capita in the country, a whopping 2.19 per 100,000 residents, according to a 2016 WalletHub study.

The biggest challenge? Narrowing where to get your buzz. Get started on these 10 favorites.

Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant

Fado (pronounced f’doe) offers pints in a super-friendly environment, which aims to parallel Ireland’s famous pub culture. It’s popular with the after-work crowd and Guinness lovers. But what makes Fado so special (because it’s really cool) is that you’ll not only find a great pint here, but also fish and chips, a full menu of delicious appetizers, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and even liquid desserts, and soccer (or soccer…) on televisions and live music many nights.

Owl N ‘Thistle Irish Pub and Restaurant

This Seattle landmark originally opened in 1930 and is today a popular Irish pub and restaurant. The mottled brick walls and cozy tables are complemented by live music and fun. It’s a hot spot any time of year with its happy hour menu featuring Guinness beef stew, fish and chips, hand-cut fries, and a good variety of beer, but a perfect local spot to spend St. Patrick’s Day. .

De Buckley

This Irish bar has two locations: one is located on Queen Anne and the other is in Belltown. Both are neighborhood pubs that offer a smoke-free environment, as well as delicious chips and fish. The rest of the menu offers both Irish favorites and non-Irish cuisine. The pubs are ideal for families and host events, nights and games on their projection screens.

Locations: 232 First Avenue W (Queen Anne) and 2331 Second Avenue (Belltown)

Kells Irish Pub and Restaurant

Located on Post Alley above the historic Pike Place Market, Kells is always full of pub crawlers. Its warm and welcoming atmosphere and its outdoor patio make it attractive to tourists as well. The menu features some more unusual Irish foods such as farl, a variety of patties, grouper and shepherd pie, as well as the largest collection of single malt scotch in town. Every year this pub celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with great fervor.

Location: 1916 Post Alley

Blarney Stone Irish Pub and Restaurant

Blarney’s in Belltown has a line of beers on tap. While sipping a pint, you can play pool and darts, watch sports on flat-screen TVs, use the free Wi-Fi, and more. The menu has a good mix of Irish favorites, from corned beef hash and sausage and mash, as well as non-Irish foods. The house tokens are pretty terrific and worth a try.

Wilde Rover Irish Pub & Restaurant

In traditional fashion, this Irish pub in Kirkland features Irish-themed spaces, including a fireplace and library, and of course billiards. The pub is a great spot on Paddy’s Day, but it’s also a great brunch or happy hour restaurant. Be Irish all year long!

Location: 111 Central Way, Kirkland

Molly Maguire’s Irish Pub

This little pub has Irish owners with a loyal following. They offer more than a dozen beers on tap and live music weekly, as well as darts, a pool table, karaoke nights, and a fun atmosphere. However, if you are looking for Irish food, this is not the place for you. It is more of a bar and known for its selection of drinks and fun than for its food.

Location: 610 NW 65th Street

Pequliar old

Well-priced food and drinks keep the locals in Ballard as happy as a homegrown Irishman. The menu is varied enough to find something tasty and some of the foods are quite generous (Macho Nachos, I’m looking at you). The atmosphere is simple and the menu for the most part is too. Come here for the pub experience and you won’t be disappointed.
