Fake news and conspiracy myths: Twitter account blocked by radical Trump fan

Marjorie Taylor Greene is making headlines again. According to the US Republican and Trump supporter, her Twitter account has now been permanently blocked.

Washington DC – Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal Twitter account has been permanently banned. The member of the US House of Representatives has repeatedly published misleading and false statements about the corona pandemic, as Twitter announced.

A procedure based on artificial intelligence introduced in March 2021 had analyzed and checked Greens Posts. According to information from Twitter, two to three “strikes” lead to a twelve-hour lockout of the account, four “strikes” to a one-week period and five or more violations to a permanent account lockout. The Republican MPs’ account had already been blocked several times, most recently in July 2021 after Green posted that Sars-CoV-2 was “not dangerous for non-obese people and those under 65”.

Marjorie Taylor Greene: Twitter account blocked – like Donald Trump

In addition to Twitter, Green was mainly active on Telegram. There she described the barriers as an “attack on communist-style free speech”. Twitter is an “enemy” of the USA. The Republican has already attracted attention several times in the past for spreading conspiracy theories, including on QAnon. For this reason, among other things, she had to vacate her post in the US Congress in February 2021. Green, who is considered a radical supporter of Donald Trump, also caused outrage with Nazi comparisons regarding the corona vaccination.

In the tradition of the former US president, her account has now been blocked: Trump’s Twitter account was also permanently blocked shortly after the storm on the US Capitol. (do)
