The chances of having a twin pregnancy, be it twins or twins, are not particularly high and depend on several factors, such as the mother’s age and weight, a history of multiple pregnancies, and whether there is any fertility treatment.
However, in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the United States, a curious and beautiful coincidence happened: a twin baby boom, after which they currently have 12 pairs of twins and twins under their care .
In a hospital, it is common for them to have several babies admitted to their NICU, however, it is probably not like in Saint Luke Hospital, in Kansas City, Missouri, where they apparently have set a record by having twelve pairs of twins and twins at the same time , something that had never happened in the history of the hospital.
To celebrate and commemorate this moment, they held a photo session of the babies and their parents during their stay in the NICU, with the support of Helen Ransom, a photographer who is also the mother of multiples, in her case triplets, and who were some time also admitted to the hospital.
Through her Facebook page Faces You Love Photography, Helen shared an emotional video with some of the images of the 12 pairs of twins and twins, and in an interview with Parents, she comments that she loved supporting parents voluntarily:
” When parents enter the NICU, their cell phones are kept in a plastic bag to minimize exposure to germs. In this way I am able to give them beautiful images that cannot be captured with a cell phone in a bag, ” he says. .
In addition to capturing beautiful photos of parents with their babies, Helen shared some advice as a mother of multiples, because in addition to sharing this space together, when experiencing similar situations, they functioned as a support network among all .
Without a doubt it is a beautiful and amazing story, because not every day a hospital has so many pairs of twins and twins at the same time , and not all parents of multiples are lucky enough to live this experience accompanied by others in the same situation.
