Christmas is a time full of joy and excitement, but for some families who have babies born with a medical need, it is necessary to stay in the hospital during the holidays. But at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, admitted babies receive something very special .
For the sixth consecutive year, the nurses have surprised the parents of the babies who are there, dressing them in colorful knitted garments that pretend to be Christmas gifts , in order to brighten up their stay in the hospital.
As in previous years, this precious task was carried out by the nurse Caitlin Pechin, who knitted all the garments with which they have dressed hospitalized babies, who, in addition to everything, were born in the middle of the pandemic.
On this occasion, all the babies received a bag with a bow, pretending to be a gift , and a matching hat, as we can see in the photos that they gladly shared from the hospital to show our readers in Babies and more.
More than just being a tender detail for families and something beautiful to observe for all of us, these types of gestures help to make the stay in the hospital warmer and more humane for the babies and families who will spend Christmas there.
