There were already fanatical parents of these characters, but as a result of the launch of the new Pokémon Go game, the fever has risen again. Pokemon mania has led to more and more newborns bearing Pokémon names , both from the new version of the game and from previous versions.
The Babycenter website is registering through a survey the names that parents plan to give or have given their babies, and the trend is on the rise, especially in English-speaking countries. Names like Eevee, Roselia and Onyx are gaining popularity among girls, while for boys the ones that ring the most are Ash, Ivy and Shay . They are also inspired by names like Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Charmander.
With the Pokémon fever that is invading the world, it is to be expected that in the coming months there will be a wave of pokebabies with the names of the most famous characters in the game . Roselia, for example, (who is the character we see below) has risen 5,859 places in popularity since last year.
According to the history of trends, choosing the name of the baby has always been linked to the present, to the actors or famous people at a certain moment in history, and without a doubt Pokemon is being a phenomenon of our days.
A phenomenon that many future dads are hooked on, so I’m sure the best-known characters will top the list of names that will be trending in 2017. Would you give your baby a Pokémon name?
